These limited-edition figurines depicting “Gilnockie Tower the ancient home of the Clan Armstrong are individually hand made in the border town of Langholm, by Sandra and Norman Maxwell. Between them they have 77 years’ experience in figurine manufacture gained in the employ of Border Fine Arts, world renowned manufacturer of collectable figurines.
Sandra was employed by “Border Fine Arts” at their Langholm Factory as a “Ceramic Painter” She worked there for 37 years from 1980 through to the following the merger of “Border Fine Arts” and “Lilliput Lane Cottages” and after the production of Lilliput Lane cottages was moved to the Langholm site, she painted both product lines.

Norman was employed by Border Fine Arts for 40 years from 1977 to 2017 when the production site was closed. During his time at BFA and Lilliput Lane he was engaged in all aspects of the production process. Starting off in mould-making and casting, progressing through various rolls within the company, finally working as process development engineer.
Born from the ashes of this Langholm industry both Norman and Sandra have fashioned a quality product that is being produced to celebrate the 500 year life of Gilnockie Tower.
Only 500 will be made and when they are gone the mould will be broken up so no more can be cast. No1 and No 500 will be auctioned off for the benefit of the future of Gilnockie Tower.
